Learning at Work Week: Power Up Your Learning
Energizing a lifelong learning culture through connection, curiosity, and collaboration
๐ 3.6K hub visits | ๐ 500+ attendees | ๐ค 10+ external experts | ๐ฌ 375 recognition moments | ๐ Learning, wellbeing, and strategy connected at every level
๐ The Challenge: Great Tools, Low Engagement
Despite offering strong tools and platforms, learning and development werenโt landing consistently across regions.
Employee awareness of L&D initiatives was low, and learning often felt disconnected from day-to-day work or strategic goals like Boosting Our Skills. The culture around learning was fragmented, with some teams thriving while others lacked visibility, access, or support.
To grow our people, we needed to grow their connection to learning, and build excitement around what was possible.
The challenge: Make learning feel like a superpower โ and make it accessible to all.
๐ Background: Launching a Global Moment of Learning
In May 2024, Reward Gateway | Edenred celebrated National Learning at Work Week (NLAWW) for the first time, embracing the Campaign for Learningโs theme: Learning Power.
I led the internal communication and engagement campaign, aligning the initiative with our EVP, People Strategy, and global upskilling effort.
We designed a week that celebrated learning as a career advantage, a wellbeing benefit, and a culture-builder, turning everyday curiosity into a shared experience.
๐ ๏ธ My Role: Strategy, Messaging & Multi-Channel Activation
I worked cross-functionally with our Learning & Performance team to create a hybrid learning experience โ one that reached every region and reflected the diversity of how people learn.
Key initiatives included:
Strategic Narrative & Program Design
Championed the Power Up Your Learning theme to tie learning to performance, growth, and wellbeing
Positioned learning as a personal advantage, not just a company offering
Built a flexible hybrid program with online sessions and in-person events across all four GEOs
Global Learning Hub & Content
Launched a Learning at Work Week Hub on boom! with:
Session recordings, curated TED Talks, podcasts, and playlists
Leadership interviews on their own learning journeys
Partnered with 10+ external experts, including Liggy Webb, Dale Carnegie, and The Wellbeing Fix
Featured key sessions like:
The Power of Lifelong Learning keynote
Excel workshops and coaching drop-ins
Desk yoga and wellbeing sessions
Live polls, interactive quizzes, and regional Q&As
Promotion & Internal Engagement
Introduced the campaign in global town halls and cascaded to managers through managers
Created a branded comms calendar with blogs, invites, SmartHub banners, and digital signage
Activated a champions group to promote events and share testimonials
Encouraged participation through a learning-themed recognition campaign with eCards and shoutouts

โค๏ธ Why It Matters
Learning isnโt a one-time event โ itโs a lifelong advantage.
By making learning fun, inclusive, and easy to access, Power Up Your Learning brought new energy to our culture of growth. It helped employees see L&D not as another task, but as an opportunity to explore, grow, and thrive together.
This was more than a week of sessions. It was the start of something sustainable.
