🔍 The Challenge: Addressing Financial Stress at Work

The rising cost of living and global economic uncertainty were creating a ripple effect — and employees were feeling it.

Financial stress had become one of the top drivers of anxiety, burnout, and disengagement. Support varied across regions and was often hard to access. Many employees didn’t have personalized tools to help manage day-to-day finances, let alone plan for the future.

At the same time, the business needed a way to proactively address retention, prevent burnout, and create more inclusive support systems for employees in all financial circumstances.

📌 Background: Meeting Employees Where They Are

At Reward Gateway | Edenred, we saw an opportunity to lead with care — and with strategy.

In 2024, I partnered with the People Team, DEIB networks, and platform providers to launch a comprehensive financial wellbeing strategy that would reach employees across the UK, U.S., and Australia.

This wasn’t about perks or one-off webinars. It was about building a culture of financial empowerment — integrated with our EVP, aligned to our DEIB commitments, and rooted in our HEART wellbeing strategy.

I led the communications, activation, and engagement approach — ensuring the strategy was accessible, inclusive, and action-oriented across all regions and life stages.

  • Included a “Financial Empowerment” category in the HEART Awards to spotlight those helping others thrive

DEIB-Driven Access

  • Collaborated with HEART, Multicultural, and Social Mobility networks to ensure inclusive messaging

  • Addressed specific challenges like generational wealth gaps, student debt, and caregiving responsibilities

Comms & Content Rollout

  • Built dedicated global SmartHub pages and posted campaigns across boom!

  • Created toolkits, FAQs, and regional breakdowns for pensions, taxes, and financial planning

  • Hosted live webinars and digital events to introduce tools and share real-life success stories
